More Ebay price madness. 'Z' Hub caps this time

$850 USD?  And only lousy "Z" hub caps! "D' 's maybe, but "Z"'s ???

The asking price does not determine value, the final sale price does, but it just surprises me. The last couple of sets of these were ~$400 ish in this condition.

He's had 3 offers. Would be nice to see what the offers were.

Then right below that auction is a more realistic (sane?) one for 5 similar caps where the bidding is at $180 so far.  Mind you, no pictures of the backs, and likely more used.

The first ones look in much better condition if you wanna be picky. but 850 yeah it's madness, but maybe it's worth it I have no idea

The first set is NOS, right? Probably not too out of line. I wish the Z caps brought crazy money because I have a bunch of used ones to sell.

The $850 ones have sold, price not listed but said "best offer accepted".

The other set is at $128 now, with 7 bids?  That's not too bad.  I'd gladly pay $100 for a set as nice, but no E-bay.

There's a good write up on refurbishing them in the Wick Humble "How to Restore Your Z" book.  Paint mixing info and such.  I've thought about trying it but haven't yet, I bought some Koning Rewinds for now.  I'd like to have a nice set if I ever sale one.  If you don't have the book, I could scan the page for you.

What I find even more entertaining is the shipping method. "economy shipping"   Sure! I want my expensive stuff banged up and take forever to receive. Heck yea!

Sort of how I felt. I have 2 waiting on projects but for that kind of money I could probably be happy with less displacement...

The first set were NOS and were worth every penny. That's what they sell for in Japan in that sort of shape.

There is a huge difference between what people will pay for NOS vs good condition used. In Japan in particular I've seen insane prices for stuff just because it's NOS and never used.

I've seen Kanto Seiki washer bottles sell for $400 USD, along with rear licence plate lamp's also selling for a similar price.

There is an Ashtray asking $550 - $750 USD (Buy it now) on eBay. Thing is they are NLA. So whatchagonnado?
