Posted February 17, 20169 yr comment_486682 Lets get some emotional discussion going. With Renault in control of Nissan, could the new Alpine possibly provide the platform for a new Z? http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2016/02/16/voila-renault-reveals-alpine-vision-sports-car/?intcmp=hpff Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/53311-the-next-z-platform/ Share on other sites
February 17, 20169 yr comment_486685 Not a bad theory but i think the mid-engine design would make it not a Z. Assuming the french company can make it not suck, and the american emissions/safety laws dont destroy the concept it has the potential to be a great car. It reminds me more of the MR2 and Fiero than anything else, yet its Porsche Cayman dollars. February 17, 20169 yr comment_486690 It needs to be affordable and undercut the price of the alternatives to be successful in North America. If it carries a Porsche or Corvette price tag, it will lose the "entry level" appeal the Z has always held for sports car enthusiasts.
