February 26, 20169 yr comment_487196 54th Z imported into the US, he claims. I wonder how he knows that or where it's documented. Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/53347-54th-z-up-for-sale/#findComment-487196 Share on other sites
February 26, 20169 yr comment_487199 A VIN would be more convincing than 54th Z. Seems like he is more focused on selling the car based on the ID he has bestowed upon it rather than the actual car. Dennis There is no documentation that I am aware of. In fact, there is strong evidence that the cars were NOT imported in sequential VIN. Consider that the car (s) delivered to Peter Brock, supposedly from the first shipment of cars in January 1970, had a three digit serial number. I have records of HLS30U-00026 which was imported in April 1970. This seller may very well have HLS30U-00054 which would give the impression of the 54th. Either way, it's a two-digit VIN. February 26, 20169 yr comment_487227 "54th imported" is a lot more difficult to prove than "54th built". Curious that he didn't list the VIN if it's such an early car. But, that's the charm of Craigslist. Dennis Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/53347-54th-z-up-for-sale/#findComment-487227 Share on other sites
February 26, 20169 yr comment_487229 VIN would help a lot, even the last four digits. Most lay folk don't realize all the other numbers are the same. If it's not too rusty the price could be a good deal. Anyone try to contact him yet? February 26, 20169 yr comment_487234 I googled the name and address info, WOW! This is some weird stuff. Molested as a child, killed a child later in life and went to prison. This is a dangerous scam I think. Nobody puts their name and address on CL, most people won't even put a phone number.
