I was directed here from Georgia Datsun Owners Club page. I have a 1978 280Z i just got her home on Saturday. I was told there is an article that is a must read" Awakening the sleeping beast" Can anyone please point me to it? Thank you in advance!

Thank you Gents! That thread is awesome! exactly what I needed. This my very first Z and I'm already in love with the Fairlady! I'm anxious to get her back on the road but I want to take every precaution necessary to prevent any damage. She was running 4 years ago and then the previous owner couldn't drive anymore. 

so far...I have drained the fuel tank. pulled the plugs rotated the engine by hand and there is no binding at all. I'll be changing the oil and flushing the coolant system.

Looks like Roberta is a 78 and has paint code 638, Black Pearl without the SA package.

Very nice, take care of that paint .

Sitting for 4 years and all that dust on it. You are definitely going to learn about old style efi systems. They are simple, but can be temperamental when left alone for a long time.
