It looks complete, original and not messed with. Thats a good sign.

When you are ready to start it, you will probably have issues with the efi. Most of us do. Looking at the surface rust on the piping, I would expect corrosion in the connectors. Check the link I posted on how to solve that problem.

You will probably get it running, but then getting it running right will be your challenge. One step at a time: Awaken the beast, get it running, diagnose, improve.

Looks like fun.  FYI, the Fairlady moniker is typically reserved for the left-hand drive cars from Japan, I believe.  Yours is just a 280Z.  Not a big deal but this is the site for the purists, along with the rest of us.  Classic.

Buy some contact cleaner, like DeOxit, and some nut-buster like PB Blaster, and start spraying so it can start working.

Looks like a great project! Finding one in stock condition, or close to it, is more than half the challenge. That way, at least most of the mistakes made will be your own.

If you start removing hoses and such. Give the clamps a good dose of pb blaster, some swear by a mix of 50/50 acetone and dexron (ATF) in a spray bottle. Try to save as many of the original efi clamps as possible. They are made from stainless steel and generally superior quality compared to the aftermarket stuff.

A phosphate rust converter to clean up the fuel rail and other rusty parts. I used it to treat and clean the parts when I had the fuel rail off the car.

nice find - looks like the body is pretty clean as well. there are a few threads on efi re-furb here, i'd read up before buying parts to save yourself some time and $$, as many, if not most of the parts can be cleaned and re-built. keep a watchful eye on anything rubber - fuel & vac hoses, throttle body boot, pcv hose, coolant hoses, etc. as they may be dried out and brittle. easy to replace if done methodically. don't fall into the trap of removing a whole bunch at once - best to replace one at a time to avoid mistakes with routing. same for electrical - you'll want to systematically unplug, clean, inspect and re-connect all the grounds and pathways from the sensors (under the t-stat housing) as well as the injector connectors. be careful of those injector connectors - they get brittle from exposure to heat.

Driven on the left side of the road, but Fairlady Zs have Right Hand Drive (RHD) steering.
