Pomorza Posted March 15, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2016 Hey mates It has come to that time when my interior door panel has, broken is a nice way to put it. Is there any difference between the 280z door panels? I've found replacement ones - new ones apparently - but it states they're for 77-78 280z, and mine is a 76. Is there actually a difference here? Thanks Jan
Zed Head Posted March 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 15, 2016 I know that Nissan did change the doors for 77-78. Not sure exactly how the panels would change but the window mechanism, door latching, and general seals all changed. You can't put a 77 door on a 76 body. I'd imagine that the various holes, for attaching the panel, and window regulator handles, door latches, etc., changed too.
cbuczesk Posted March 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 15, 2016 The 74-76 panels have a different texture pattern and the opening for the door lock is farther back than the 77-78. You can swap them but the texture is slightly different and you'd have to modify the lock lever/location. Chuck
Pomorza Posted March 15, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted March 15, 2016 Has anyone ever bought parts from http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/? They have new aftermarket parts which seem to be what I need, but would like everyone's opinion if possible. Thanks Jan

240dkw Posted March 16, 2016 Share #6 Posted March 16, 2016 wheee not sure about the 74-76 or 77-78, but the 70-73 black panels can still be bought at your local dealer. I have bought several pairs and they were in stock in Calgary. They were a good deal as it was in Cdn and no shipping costs.

Zup Posted March 16, 2016 Share #8 Posted March 16, 2016 Carl Yeagar is www.new-datsun-parts.com He sells good stuff but it isn't cheap. I've ordered several items from him and it is as advertised--I've been satisfied with what I received every time.
rcb280z Posted March 16, 2016 Share #9 Posted March 16, 2016 $300 is a great price for those door panels IMO, compared to others.

With the exchange rate, it's about $100 cheaper to buy local... [emoji15]
