Zed Head Posted March 30, 2016 Share #13 Posted March 30, 2016 I wish that I still had all of the cars that I've had. I'd be sitting on some good money. The Dart Sport had the twin snorkel hood scoops, the later rounded fender body style (not the early squared off version), and a 340 with an 800 cfm ThermoQuad carburetor. I bought it for $600, rebuilt the carburetor (it had a sunk float), and made noise around the neighborhood for a few months. Can't remember why I sold it. Maybe I had a moment of sensibility. Saw a basic car wiring diagram in the encyclopedia. AHA! Grabbed a LONG wire and connected it from the battery to the + side of the coil. Fuel pump came to life. Pulled the starter switch and he (Brutus) roared to life. I still remember the adrenaline rush driving it, praying no one would be home when I returned. She still doesn't know about my adventures in her car. It's better that way. Threadjack is returned again.
Captain Obvious Posted March 31, 2016 Share #15 Posted March 31, 2016 Haha! I was probably about the same age. The good old days without steering locks. Hopefully Granny will come back with some troubleshooting info soon and stamp out our threadjack!!
