SledZ Posted April 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Hi All, I just purchased a one owner 71 240 that was painted in 1983 and sat until I bought it.. None of the emblems were put back on but it came with all new metal emblems which is nice. What I don't understand is why there are so many holes for the side emblem? any ideas? Hardway Posted April 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2016 Nice collection of NOS parts. Can you take a picture of the back of the B-pillar emblems? Is it possible the number of pins or position of the pins changed at some point?

Hardway Posted April 1, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 1, 2016 Interesting. I am sure others will chime in but maybe a previous owner installed the round vented emblems because they liked the style of them. Either way, looks like you got some holes to fill when you are doing your body work.
S30Driver Posted April 1, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2016 I agree, it looks to me like the round vented z emblems were on there at some time.
SledZ Posted April 1, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted April 1, 2016 That's unbelievable..I found a round emblem and it does have three pins that match up.. What the heck that sucks... I wonder how that ever happened. the round emblem covers the two holes for the correct one!
grannyknot Posted April 1, 2016 Share #7 Posted April 1, 2016 I doubt an owner would ever make a mistake like that but some quicky paint and body shop in the last 45 years probably could.
