April 5, 20169 yr comment_491729 I'll get some better pictures and mark the paths like you've done. We're talking about the same hoses, mine maybe a little different though. I have a early '77 5spd. I'll do it this afternoon. Those shields bolt to the bottom of the intake manifold. I had to use a hand held mirror to put mine back on. Here's a picture. April 5, 20169 yr Author comment_491746 Thanks, I looked and I do see where that one will go; Spend about 6 hours on the today, here's what I learned: The cotter pins on the auto trans shift linkage are a pain. I used the generic door bushings to replace the missing (worn away) plastic ones. It actually shifts and stays in park now. Which is very good. I put on a new rubber boot for the throttle linkage. The best way is to pop the ball off in the engine compartment, and then just unscrew the whole accelerator pedal (3 screws) and get at the 7 mm nut from outside the car. The ball fits through the firewall hole FYI. A lot easier than trying to get at it under the dash, I don't see how it could be done.... April 6, 20169 yr comment_491756 Good deal. I've taken the pics of those vacuum lines and will mark them with "paint" program on my laptop tomorrow morning. Back with you then. 8^) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55184-putting-it-back-together-after-2-years/?&page=2#findComment-491756 Share on other sites
April 6, 20169 yr comment_491791 I've had some fun playing on MS Paint! It's a heck of alot easier with my wireless mouse than the touch pad on my laptop. Red goes from solenoid to firewall grommet. I suppose to the HVAC? The blue is open to the atmosphere, no idea about that. Yellow goes from vacuum source on the intake manifold to the TOP hole on my bottle. Orange goes from bottom hole on my bottle to Fast Idle Actuator on the intake. When you turn on the air it pulls in from vacuum and grabs the throttle rod to pull along with it, raising the RPMs at idle. Now whether or not mine is right is up for discussion.
