April 30, 20168 yr Author comment_493895 12 hrs to go, I'm pumped! Seems like it is down to 2 guys now, I have communicated with both several times and they are both good guys with no fooling around, either one would be an excellent new owner. If the car doesn't go up one more penny I'll be fine with it, I've made back my costs,(that's a first) and I'll have enough now for the next Z build. April 30, 20168 yr comment_493899 Good luck selling. Sad to see her go after all the work you put into it. Chris, you might not know it, but you have John's last word of advice on this site. Post#31. As a fellow rider we all know just how vulnerable we are out there regardless of how much you paid for your gear. Riding Death Valley has been on my bucket list for a long time too. April 30, 20168 yr comment_493936 If I was the successful winning bidder (and I wish I were) I would pay to store the car in Toronto until August 2nd, then roll on over to Zcon & collect a trophy. Come home with both. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55306-need-some-advice-on-selling/?&page=4#findComment-493936 Share on other sites
April 30, 20168 yr comment_493945 I was thinking $20K for sure but I am happy to see your investment pay off. So many people do not get back what they have invested. Restored cars in general I'm saying, not just Datsun. 8 minutes after grannyknot's Z is a really really nice green 1972 blue plate California 240Z. For the person that misses out on this one. I would also jump all over that car in a second if I could. May 1, 20168 yr Author comment_493953 Guys, I have emailed the auction winner a pdf of the title to the car, he is suggesting that on Monday he will draw up a bill of sale that we will both sign then he will wire transfer the money into my account. Does that sound like the way these things are done? I have never sold a car long distance before. May 1, 20168 yr comment_493960 I will take a chance here but as a disclaimer I may be wrong. With a bill of sale there must be "consideration" ie money for a legitimate contract, so I think you are ok to do that. The bill of sale should be meaningless with out the funds. No car or title until the funds clear the bank. I would probably send that in an email to be clear and provide documentation. You need to contact a reliable source to be sure I'm right. Local used car dealer possibly...you're too far out of my part of the world for me to help you more than that.
