Need some advice on selling

Low 4-digit VIN, good color, great pictures, tasteful mods, and ready to enjoy.  That car has everything going for it!  I am not surprised it blew past $15K in less than a day.  When it is all said and done I think the final sale price will be much closer to $23K if not a little more.  If a European buyer gets it the price could very well be much more.  From what I have seen, in order to get $25K - $30K for a 240z, all the small details have to be correct like all the emblems being present, fully restored and detailed engine & suspension, and other things like the original AM radio being present.  Its not say there are other examples that have gone for that kind of money and not met that criteria but for the most part, to get top dollar for a Z or any classic car it must be C&C, Complete and Correct (as much as possible)  Good luck with the sale!

This is what I was thinking as well. Seems a lot of 240Z's have been listed for sale lately. Almost all the nice ones actually sold for less than

what I thought they would. I too, like the color of this car. I would but it in a minute if I could. I was wondering if it was painted a BMW or Audi

color. But now that I reread the original post I see It is Jaguar grey. I thought it had more blue in it from the photos. I will be watching.

Just be careful.  There are a lot of no sales on eBay even though the reserve is met and the auction completes.  That's a nice car and I would offer just under $20K if I was in the market.  It will probably sell for more because my pricing tends to lag the market.

I am rather late to the party, but want to express to you my hopes that your sale exceeds your expectations grannyknot.

It certainly is a very nice car and hopefully will go to someone who both appreciates the quality of your efforts and is willing to back that up with $$$$$$.$$.

Yes, to some it should have this, or it should have that, but it cannot be argued that (for anyone serious about a Z) it is a very high starting point for whatever may be done in the future.

All the Best to you, sir!

John, yes I have heard of those horror stories too but I haven't seen anyway of preventing them except keeping a list of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest bidders and contacting them if the 1st guy backs out. How can you be     careful?

Everyone else, thanks for all the support, it's appreciated. It's exciting but really a nerve wracking process.

Now just shy of US$16K with 7 days of bidding still to go.  Looks very positive.  Given your documented and quality work on the structure, together with a nice paint job and a sanitary, OE interior, I think this should close in the $25K - $30K range.  GLWTS.
