I was going to use a spring for the 180d bend in the tank vent line but I can't figure out the right search terms. Does anyone have a link to a proper spring for this purpose?

Try searching unicoil or unicoil hose former. Shows 90° max but maybe there are others.

I remember that post, but I don't have a link.  Here's a compendium of articles that I put together several years ago on the topic.  No mention of the forming spring. but a useful suggestion for simulating the 180-degree bend using a 90-degree coupling and a section of a donor hose (EFI?) that has a 90-degree bend and the right ID.

I remember Fastwoman talking about Goodyear EZ coils for bending rubber hose. That may be in the links Namerow already posted? I'm using my phone and it's a pain trying to type.

Seems like there was a thread where the person had turned the top vent pipe 180* so that there was no hose bend required.

Installed the gas flap and ring today

Also I was stripping down the heater box for freshening up

Do anyone know if I can get this flap out? I don't see anything retaining it but it seemed like it didn't want to come out. I would also like to two floor heat flaps out too but I don't know how to de-assemble those either.

I finally got the rear harness pulled in. It was a huge pain. Took maybe ten tries to get the defrost and dome light harness pulled up from the quarter panel. I would suggest not pulling those out when you strip the car if possible. Wrap them up and leave them in place...

I replace them with a single wire just to pull the new cable back in later.. easy!  (good tip?) 😉

I had a wire going through that area and used it to fish the harness in, but there are brackets and bolts welded up in that area of the car. The harnesses snag on those making it hard to get them back in

From watching the electricians pull wires, they always use plenty of tape to make sure everything is smooth. Of course, electricians fishing tape might help with that endeavor, too.

When I re-built my heater box several years ago, I left all of these flaps in place.  After cleaning up the inner and outer surfaces of the plenum and flaps, I sprayed the inside with a rust-inhibitor paint and then the outsides with matte black.  I then cut replacement pieces of foam (adding an outside layer of soft vinyl for the pads destined for the big flap).  If you go to the 'Resources' section, I think that my full write-up is still there.  Also included at the time was a set of templates for all of the foam pieces (these were designed to be printed at 1:1 and then glued to the peel-off backing sheet of the foam).  If you can't find these docs, let me know and I'll re-post them.  It's finicky work, but doing it properly produces a heater/blower that works effectively and quietly.
