January 7, 20241 yr Author comment_660836 If someone has some pictures of the manual console from underneath, that would be great. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660836 Share on other sites
January 8, 20241 yr comment_660838 I just took some pictures. The camera battery died right after I took the pictures, will post them after the battery charges. January 8, 20241 yr comment_660861 Here are the console pictures. Ignore the plywood pieces glued into sides, it was an attempt to stiffen the fiberglass. January 8, 20241 yr Author comment_660862 Thanks for those! It looks like the auto console would need some pretty serious patching to make work. I will look at sourcing a replacement console Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660862 Share on other sites
January 8, 20241 yr Author comment_660863 On another note, does anyone have any recommendations for replacing this hard board that goes on the rear strut towers? This is why I don't through anything away. I found it inside the old vinyl I only have one and need to make the pieces for the top of the shock tower too. It looks to be about 2mm thick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660863 Share on other sites
January 8, 20241 yr comment_660865 Arts & crafts stores carry that kind of mat board or even a frame shop, or, like everyone else I'm sure you have a dozen Amazon boxes kicking around🙂 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660865 Share on other sites
January 8, 20241 yr Author comment_660880 That's a good idea. I will try Michaels. I want something a little tougher than regular cardboard in case I need to peel the leather and reposition Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660880 Share on other sites
January 8, 20241 yr comment_660881 I found that the board material inside of 3 ring binder/notebooks worked very well when I redid those in my track car years ago. Something like this: https://www.officedepot.com/b/binders/N-1035691 If you have some old ones laying around, that might be more appealing that sacrificing new ones Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55369-1971-hls30-14938-lily-build/?&page=70#findComment-660881 Share on other sites
