I've seen exhausts that leaked, so if you want to fit it right make the intakes smaller not the exhaust pipes/connections.  Particularly the exhaust number 6 causes trouble at the seals.. so you know now what to look out for!

ere's my new shop helper! Already found the tools and the shiny exhaust. 😉

 

 

The new shop helper is pretty cute! The fun of new bling... I had interference on my MSA 6 2 1 ceramic headers with my thermostat housing causing an exhaust leak. A little work with a grinder on the thermostat housing corrected the problem.

I worked on clearancing the manifolds.

After grinding with a burr in a die grinder and some light polishing work

Then I put them back in the bead blasting cabinet to even out the finish.

I didn't cut through into the water passage. Although I don't know how thick the remaining material is...

Also I tried to run a copper exhaust nut on to the #6 stud and wrung it off.

Since Cody was home, I enlisted him to get the stud out. There was some incidental damage to the threads, so I helicoiled it

I am thinking I will remove the incoming line from the rear brake device and route it straight into the brass union

I bought a R200 flange for the driveshaft from Zcardepot. Looks like it will work good. Here it is next to the old flange

I also bought a new rear diff mount. I suspect these are available straight from Nissan

Yep, still available. ZCD's shipping charge is what makes me avoid them if I can. I know shipping rates are high but they make a little extra. IMHO

In my situation, I order local and pick it up for $5 in gas.

I was buying a number of other things and with my lack of free time I appreciate not having to make another trip.

Also my local Nissan dealer is a pain just like my local BMW dealership so I work around both of them with online resources

I completely understand, Everyone's situation is different. BMW is a lot farther for me too. Sometimes paying a little more works better for the connivence.  

As i'm learning the language.. you meant convenience?  or is that an other word for the same? 🙂  ??  also ease , handyness..

Convenience is correct, it looks like spellchecker got a hold of the word and decided on what I meant. 

Got the driveshaft reassembled

I painted it all black

I bought a piece of tubing out of china. Cut it down and replated it last weekend. I used a nitrile o ring on the end. I would rather have a small square hydraulic ring instead. We'll see if it leaks

The intakes need to be reassembled on the car to hold the orientation and the spacing

I made a center line mark to help get the pipe centered between the manifolds.

I also had to drill out the manifolds to get the corrosion out so the tube would go in.

I also started working on the washer tubes

I have to figure out how to straighten out the tubes

Made some good progress today even after wasting a lot of time trying to plate some stuff.

Insulators and gaskets on

Added an SS plate that takes care of the carb springs that came from Zcardepot.

Carbs are on. I can't locate all the linkage yet.

 

I took an extra balance tube I had and bead blasted for an interim solution

I reworked the back brake lines. I had an interference

Ended up with this

Here is the final rear sway bar setup. At least for now... 😉 

Do both of the washers go inside the yoke with the spring?
