ZmeFly - Maybe I should be quiet about turbo exhaust.

The stuff about NEEDing the restriction ---- I thought it would

apply to all exhaust systems on all cars - Thanks for getting me

straightend out on the subject.

from what ive read and learned it is a really strange subject.

some say that with the n/a cars that you do need backpressure and some say not. some say you will burn out your valves without any back pressure.

well that i do know is a myth. ive never run a chambered (like the turbo style muffler) exhaust.

never had any problems with valves and the like on an n/a engine.

i will say this though going with an open exhaust does cost you a little in the bottom end but lets you go faster in the top end.

its a give and take with whatever you decide to use. turbos though do use the exhaust escape and you want that out of the car asap.

its always fun and talking and discussing things like this. ive heard a lot about the n/a applications and from a lot of people. what i have never seen from anyone is any difference via dyno sheets that state and or prove that an open exhaust or a chambered exhaust is any better or worse then the other.

its what you like and decide and feel best with that matters in the end most of all.
