can go live in France with the rest of the Pus*ies.

After reading some of your reactions, please consider that it take some balls, to say the least, to stand against a friend for your own opinion, and especially when he is 10 times bigger than you are.

For me the little animals you are referring to, are the one who think like Chirac and don't have the balls to express it !!!!

Real friend do communicate, no?

By the way, am I the only French around here? I know Sean sneaks in from time to time, and that he is even Frenchier than I am (a britt, living in France, like a French, as a French, wait a minute you spy, get out of there budy...  ). Even if I do not support Chirac or any political clown, my health is starting to weaken under all your hard shots, I am heading to my cellar now, I need some magical potion.

YOU ARE ALL WELCOME TO OUR Z MEETING? NEXT JUNE IN FRANCE, REALLY WILL YOU DARE...

Tanny:

Re-reading my original reply to your post about communism, I can see where it may have seemed to be a direct attack at your viewpoint. I apologize, as my intent in using the term pseudo intellectual referred to the many discussions I've had in social circles whereupon some individual who, in trying to appear knowledgeable or worldly, will spout just that type of rhetoric.

And I agree with your reply:

The point of my comment was try to get people to not use terms that they think will instantly discredit someone's viewpoint because it plays on highly emotional prejudices.

and in the same vein I responded to your comment regarding true communism.

Anyhow, hopefully no offense was taken as none was meant.

Enrique

The French members may be few, but you are not alone! Some of the Americans don't agree with MDyer regarding the participation of "non-coalition" countries in the rebuilding process. Nor do we consider the French people to be "Pus*ies" as some others.

Were the US and Brits, & Aussies to attempt to exclude other countries from the opportunity to receive contracts for the rebuilding of Iraq, it would be a stupid move that would only reinforce the beliefs of those that feel it was all about oil and who controls Iraq. ( betcha a "Bush Buck" it won't be the Iraqi people)

Rick:

I agree with you regarding information that is being disseminated / broadcast to the public as a whole.

Your comment:

Once information becomes known, be it good, bad or indifferent, (in MY opinion), it should be made available to anyone who requires it. They can then make up their own minds regarding that information.

I do not feel that I have the right to pass judgement on what should or should not be made known.

Is entirely appropriate when referring to PUBLIC dissemination. Television, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, are all public. I won't go out and try to buy every copy of a newspaper or magazine trying to stop a bit of erroneous information, nor will I attempt to jam the broadcast of TV or Radio.

When it comes to e-mail however, it becomes a one on one dissemination. The message, although maybe part of a blanket mailing, was still addressed to my e-mail address. At that point, if I choose to propagate that e-mail I become a part of the dissemination process, and an unwitting supporter.

I'm not going to try to hack into computer systems to eliminate that message. I MIGHT forward it with my own opposing thoughts prefacing it, but that would be an active attack upon it. That's why I chose to not forward it, and not try to "correct" anyone's viewpoint on it, except for here in this forum.

And by posting about that list on this forum, is why I spoke up. Again, we now have an OPEN forum where many people have access to the information and to a discussion of it. That's why I spoke up and expressed my opinion. If you had instead just forwarded it to everyone on the mail list, I would have just ignored it.

Hopefully I've made my point clear.

Enrique

Am I the only one who thinks everyone is celebrating early? I mean do you honestly think Sadam has just hidden himself away, never to be seen again?

Or am I missing some vital information? :ermm:

EScanlon,

"No worries mate". Man I think the Aussies have a great vocabulary. The slang they use is really fun and highly descriptive stuff once they explain what they mean. Got to visit there someday. Feral women. Forgive the unrelated rambling.

It's not over till it's over.

Chris, Canada did not try to veto the use of force; nor did Canada (to my knowledge) try to build an anti use of force stance.

My suspicions, as well as those of a great number of Americans, is that the 3 countries that have been supplying Iraq with materials and technologies to build / deliver weapons of mass destruction (IN SPITE OF UN RESOLUTIONS, THAT HAVE BEEN IN PLACE FOR OVER A DECADE, TO DISARM.) all have veto power in the Security Council. When the dust settles, these suspicions, if accurate, will be quite embarassing to those 3 countries.

Caen, Americans generally feel that the French do not like us. Is the perception of the American "street" incorrect? There might be "intellectuals" on this site that will say that the perception is not a good characterization, and if so, I'll take exception now.:finger:

Bambi, Rebuilding is construction work, not oil. I contend that the German-French-Russian position to NOT go to war, was about oil.

It's too nice of a day to rant. I'm going outside to sand on the Z.:classic:

I don't know where you take that from??????? But that's a good question, do we like you?

- well first do we have to?

- Do you need it?

For the peoples I have around me here, you are far from being their main interest, no offence but we are on a big planet and you are very far away. They don't like or hate you in general because they don't have any close relation with the US. All they see is TV Bullsh... ranging from Hollywood Rambo like fiction and lately Rambo like action. Like some of you they just DON'T KNOW YOU.

Do they like what Bush did recently, no!

do they feel that going there for protecting your country from a potential threat was a plot? yes!

Would they have supported you if Bush had said that it was a UN mission to free one country from evil and stop children from starving, hell yes!

look on the net and you will be surprise of the presence of the French all over the world in all the stinky countries with Doctors and nurses instead of you know what...

Do the French dislike you, no sir never had, never will. We are like that, but we do like the Russian and German, Spanish and brits also... In fact we have the same bounds with the white Russia than with the States, we are coming from the same culture (they had 80 bad years, but they are very educated peoples, with one hell of a culture), did you know that French was the official language in the Tsar surround...

When you grow up, you realize that loving is sharing not dividing. It's not math it's emotion and there is some place for lot of peoples there... even you, bad boy

Read back my posts, I always said that, maybe because you feel so strong that you do not feel the need to use diplomacy, you took a bad angle for this... You can achieve a lot more using brain power instead (or even with) muscle one!!! Sometimes (often, always with women) words are the worse lockup, worse than a gun on a head, use the wrong one and your history.

So, I resume : French don't "like" you because they don't have to.

They respect you because of all you what did and are going to do.

And me?

I loved the baby your Nation was 250 years ago

I loved the child your nation was 150 years ago

I loved the strong teen your nation was 50 years ago

I pass on the young arrogant you are today...

I trust, trust and retrust the adult nation that you will be tomorrow... you show to the world that a multicultural world is possible, that’s enough for me to build you a new French statue ROFL

It's hard to grow-up, you always have to kill your oldest (gun down, it's only an image :finger:) to build yourself. So If we are the old fart for you today, it's fine with me, I know that you have all it take to be the greatest human being tomorrow, I will wait, you will learn... Listen to the oldest, only from time to time, listening isn't obeying.

Go reds...

The rebuilding will pump LARGE sums of money into certain companies and countries economies, likey at taxpayer expense to one degree or another.

Interesting that one of the first contracts to be let was to Haliburton Co. (One of Cheney's favorites) I suspect other large companies like Bechtel will be next at the trough, to feed on the Money Pie served up by Chef's Bush and Blair. I still maintain that Bush's oil buddies will benefit greatly from the newly available (stable?) oil supplies from Iraq.

OIL and MONEY it's all tied together.

Yes, it is too nice a day to rant. I'm done now. Too bad it just started raining here........maybe it will pass quickly.
