My first reaction when I heard the warning to Syria was "bloody hell - Is George trying to make up for the perceived mistakes of WWII whereby they had the army in Europe and regretted not rolling onto Moscow as that is what Churchill wanted to do after defeating Germany.:stupid:

If i was in charge of an Arab country at the moment I would be keeping a very low profile as some mad cuss might just want to shoot it off.

After such a convincing victory in Iraq, (and YES, I think it is time to claim victory), I thing President Bush is flexing a bit. I think he wants to see how these rogue countries react NOW when they think he means business.

Is Syria a threat? For a terrorism hotbed, heck yes.

The problem is, if we invade Syria, the terrorists move to Jordan, then to Egypt, then to Saudi, then to_________? But what the hey, we can rebuild the Twin Towers in Lebanon, ...when we get there. :nervous:

I think public opinion, including my own this time, would prevent the administration from pursuing Syria. UNLESS, there exists some significant proof of wrong-doing.

Besides, aircraft carriers are being sent home, jet fighters have already begun to come home (50 - 70 per week), and deployment orders have been cancelled for 1000's of army/marine types.

Poor Iraq. If we go off after another Muslim country, Iraq will be totally forgotten just like Afganistan. Where is Afganistan anyway? Wasn't that the place that we were going to rebuild to prevent any more terrorism? Oh well, out of sight, out of mind.
