I just put on 195/70 R14's Kumo Solus KH17's on mine. Got them from Tirebuyer. They are called a High Performance all season tire. Price wasn't bad either.

Just put them on two weeks ago so not much testing so far..

FYI, that tire's diameter is 2" smaller than stock.

Here's my setup, 16X7 wheels with 225/50-16 Bridgestone RE-11A:

I'm running BFG T/A 225/60 14. They are the widest 14" tire wth the same circumference as stock. Unfortunately they are the only MFR who makes that size so no other options.

I got a set of Appliance wheels free and wanted to stick with 14.

@LeonV how do you like the RE-11As?

I went with Kumho Solus on my car.  They are fine for around town driving.

They're fantastic so far, loads of grip on the street! I plan to do some autoX in the near future and maybe a track session if I feel like breaking something, should get a better feel for them then.
