Posted July 24, 20168 yr comment_499428 I'm shopping for a good set of 133mm long connecting rods with 9mm bolts from a late 240z.I've found a few places online but don't want to spend quite so much. PM me with a price if you have some. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55851-wtb-9mm-240z-connecting-rods/ Share on other sites

July 24, 20168 yr comment_499433 I'm not exactly close, but I think I have a set if that works for you. Definitely have another set, but they are still in a 73 engine. Will check the first and PM you. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55851-wtb-9mm-240z-connecting-rods/#findComment-499433 Share on other sites

July 24, 20168 yr Author comment_499438 Right now I'm just trying to maximize quality and price. MSA has some for $106 each, but I can't tell if they are NOS or aftermarket or what.Found a used set for $350 but seems high and there's an error on the site so I don't know if there's a shipping charge. If no one has a set I might be stuck with these options.I had looked into the CX Racing ones, but there's no consensus on them on any of the Z forums, other than that they have terrible customer service. July 24, 20168 yr comment_499439 Aren't there garage-fulls of L24's out there, from L28 swaps? Seems like you could get an old engine pretty easily. July 24, 20168 yr Author comment_499441 Seems like but I haven't seen one yet. Granted I've only been shopping for rods for a few days.Maybe everyone is doing like me and keeping their 2.4L engine in a crate. And there IS a consensus on CX Racing: stay far away. July 24, 20168 yr comment_499442 Sent you a PM Matthew.. $350 seems pretty darn high. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55851-wtb-9mm-240z-connecting-rods/#findComment-499442 Share on other sites
July 24, 20168 yr comment_499445 I've got a set but I'm gonna see what Matthew does then copy-cat his build. I used the 8mm in my 2.4, balanced them at like 438 grams IIRC. Put APR bolts in. With an aluminum flywheel it spins up like a motorcycle, not a Hog, a real motorcycle.
