Took the stitches out Monday night. Looks better than I thought but it's still numb. Found a new way to roll the carrots and cut spade shaped pieces off. Something good came from my accident, new carrot slices. Whup Whup!!! Just kidding, it sucked. I've got a filthy house and no clean socks plus going commando for a couple of days. But it's just been me and my dog and he's sniffing my bung while I'm sleeping. Damn gay dog!

The numbness may never go away completely. I've mangled fingers bad enough to require stiches a couple times and I think it all depends on what gets cut. All of mine have gotten "good enough" over the years, but never back to stock. Worst one was probably an electric hedge trimmer. Dr. in the emergency room muttering things like "I can't really tell what to stitch to", and "hamburger". I don't think I was supposed to hear any of that...  

Tis but a scratch.

As I'm sure you already know (from what I've heard about your motorcycle history) that the external injuries pale in complexity to the internal issues. Glad you're almost out of the woods. Now clean that house and do some laundry.

I cut the tip of my finger off many years ago and a doctor sewed it back on.  It was just a 1/4", not even any fingernail.  Took many years until it stayed pink when it got cold out and softened up like a normal fingertip.  My grandfather had a perpendicular thumbnail, from chopping his thumb-tip off right at the base of the nail while splitting wood.  Pretty sure where he lived at the time if you couldn't sew it back on yourself you were out of luck.

Wow!  I'm a big ole pu**y after seeing that and complaining the way I have.   I sure am sorry about that, you'll miss that ear scratcher.  It's hard to tie your shoes without that finger too I've realized.

To see what your fingers say about you, straighten out your left hand and compare it to the images below. Hand "A" means your ring finger is longer than your index finger. Hand "B" means your index finger is longer than your ring finger. Hand "C" means your ring and index finger are the same length

 There was a tiny bit of nail left. The Dr. said if it didn't come of I would have a horn growing from my fingertip much like Zed Head's Grandpa. Dr. wanted to take it down to below the first joint. Talked her into leaving as much as possible. The joint doesn't bend very well yet. Probably never will. Dropped a 327 block on that one in the sixties. 

 Not my first rodeo. Missing most of my right big toe too. That happened back in the seventies shortly after I got my first Z. I remember complaining to the Dr. that my foot kept slipping off the brake while novice racing. He built a stainless steel plate formed to my foot that would slip into my shoe to help out the braking problem. Worked pretty good except the pedal feel in my foot went to zero.

 According to Cliff's chart I was an A before. Kathy might disagree. She'd drop the C from Charming. She might might be more accurate. She usually is. Some would say there is a pattern here. I'll quote Red Green to respond. "If it ain't broke, you're not try'in.

Yes sir!  I agree with Ms Maras after reading the post above, you've been harming yourself longer than I been alive. Maybe you can put those days behind you and start down the "C"harming path. 8^)

After seeing your sledge hammer hands I'd enjoy hearing some life stories I know you have.

1974 and $35 an oz?  Ya'll must have got the good stuff!  I vaguely remember (and I do mean very vaguely) $15 maybe $20.  But then again I've always been cheap and I still have all my digits.
