That's opposite of what I ran into, needed the smaller one but nobody had it.  End up coming from amazon.com

Here's one from rockauto.com for $85 plus $25 core charge

And amazon.com, https://www.amazon.com/Cardone-Industries-53-5104-Brake-Booster/dp/B000RPLG60/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1469924662&vehicle=1973-67-2284-20-----14492------4-0&sr=1-3&ymm=1973%3Anissan%3A240z&keywords=brake+booster

The one at amazon is free shipping and no core charge.  I didn't do the math but I'd bet amazon is cheaper in the long run.  They're sandblasted too or mine was, you'll have to paint it.

I think the biggest problem is the bolt pattern.  zcardepot seems to have one that will work.  The difference in effort between small and big is probably barely noticeable.

Is yours repairable ? A lot of boosters the vacuum seal on the rod goes bad and it won't seal. I called around and found a replacement seal for 7.50$ . The rest was just cosmetics

Shipping from the US is probably the bigger expense. What sources are cheapest for you for importing parts?

Im in europe (Sweden) im used to pay at least twice the money for parts do to shipping and import taxes. I can get around the import tax with some "lower value on the parcel" but most parts stores dont do you that favor  ; )

I took mine apart when i discovered that my spare one had a different bolt pattern.

It was the big gasket/seal that had 2 holes in it.

I repaired it with glue, "Layer patch"for bicycle tires and some ductape. It's working fine but it won't hold for long.

The booster repair shop I talked to said the Bendix boosters were pretty good about getting parts for. All I did was tell him what part was bad and measured for a replacement . You might be able to do the same.

Thanks!!

Have never bought anything from rockauto or amazon.

Will check it out!

I can remember when we tried to twist my 72 booster apart to inspect the problem I had.

It would not budge with out destroying the housing. As it turned out I noticed a piece floating

around inside that ended up being that rubber reaction disk. We fished that out and replaced

it on the end of the push rod once we figured where it went.  That fixed it. Got lucky.

Hi all,

Been buzy with family issues.

My experience on the shipping. USPS is by far the cheapest. FedEx, UPS, DHL, Aramex etc are all much more expansive. They all charge admin fees and customs charges where USPS doesn't.

I find shipping is often more than the parts and I have to pay 21% on parts, shipping and fees. See screenshot. Those prices are only fees and taxes. Cost of parts and shipping are mentioned.

Rockauto is great. They have been fast, easy to make purchase/payment and answered my questions when asked. I have used them a lot, but can be a problem when ordering more parts in one order. Parts can come from different warehouses and then the shipping, fees and taxes really take off.

To get around it, I have ordered parts and sent them to a forum member (both of them have not been online for a while now) and they send it through to me using USPS.
