August 1, 20168 yr Author comment_500026 Bought the one from Amazon. Im shipping it to a friends friend in the us and then he will ship it to me. That way I will probobly not have to pay the import taxes. Did the same with my cam kit from Msa and it worked well. Example: Msa wanted 200$ in shipping cost + the 800$ price for the part itself. (msa have a very high cost for shipping, they ad like 100% on the shipping cost. I buy most parts from Zcardepot, they are a lot closer to reality regarding the cost for shipping and also provide outstanding service) Then it would have been 20-25% import tax on top of the total 1000$. I ended up paying 82$ in total shipping cost (shipping from Msa to the guy that helped me in the us , and from him to me in Sweden) and he wrote a total value of 130$ on the parcel. That way I only had to pay around 20$ in import tax. But its a gamble, if the part gets lost its not fun with that low value. Its expensive to own a Z in Europe : ( Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55879-brake-booster-for-a-73/?&page=2#findComment-500026 Share on other sites
August 1, 20168 yr comment_500032 If he tiks "gift" you won't have to pay any import taxes or duties. I have done that quiet a lot and haven't paid anything ... yet. Btw: MSA is not that bad actually. A boostrr is heavy and if packed well will probably go over the 5kg mark. You should try Dlackdragon. They use UPS and quoted me $160 to ship a front windscreen rubber seal, a set of pedal pads and a rear brake small parts kit (kit is not shoes, drums or wheel cylinders). Total weight in quote was 1.87kg. USPS would have cost $35. I have got away with writing "gift" on the parcel a couple of times but a couple of years ago I started to get a mail from the customs every time were they claimed i was fooling them ; ) Still try to do it when i buy used parts but not with new ones.
