November 4, 20195 yr Author comment_586900 You're asking about the webbed belt that I made to replace the original? I think I have the belt length around here somewhere. Let's make it: an inbusbolt!  More on the subject, My feb 1971 240z car does not have the strap, also the mounts are not there.. I ask myself don't they have one ( the early cars?) Is it why my car shakes so much when going over 200kph? (Last summer on the german highway, around 210 on the clock… totally Original engine!  ? ) Got the feeling.. any moment it's going to take of!!  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55955-my-new-diff-mount-and-strap-project/?&page=5#findComment-586916 Share on other sites
November 4, 20195 yr comment_586921 If your car is stock, you will need to add an air dam on front to control lift at high speeds. That is why they developed the G-nose.  You are a brave driver! I got the MSA Type 1 Style air dam and even at high speeds (did 140mph / 240km/h GPS speed) I have a very stable feeling car. German autobahn ? Both my diff strap as well as the lower diff mount need to be replaced. So I don't think the car gets shaky due to worn diff mounts. Edited November 4, 20195 yr by german240 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/55955-my-new-diff-mount-and-strap-project/?&page=5#findComment-586933 Share on other sites

November 9, 20195 yr comment_587261 Haha, I was not scared of the speed, more of the old Z breaking apart LOL. The 5 speed does make a big difference in top end driving though... I just don't want to go much faster then 90 mph with the 4 speed in mine, way to much rpm. But it's a 50 year old car it's okay.. November 9, 20195 yr comment_587269 When I bought my 240 in 1984 I was driving often over 220km/h and there was no problem (with heckspoiler and no airdam) maybe the air was better then ?
