Posted September 3, 20168 yr comment_502421 Right TS quit months ago. Tried sandpaper and VOM but no luck, no time to delve into it. Been using hand signal and being extra careful changing lanes. Now it's working again. Maybe the gremlins have seen the error of their way and are trying to make amends. A "new dawn" in the way mechanical things interact with us, maybe. There might be an explanation, but I've got nothing. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/56106-magic-turn-signal-fixed-itself/ Share on other sites

September 5, 20168 yr comment_502535 Lucky you, my left turn signal doesn't work, and I have been waiting for a year for it to fix itself. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/56106-magic-turn-signal-fixed-itself/#findComment-502535 Share on other sites
October 15, 20168 yr Author comment_504952 C.O. was correct, problem back. Right T.S. only works part of the time (like me). Every time I've checked it while car was parked, if it clicked and the indicator light flashed, it was working. When the indicator flashed, but didn't click, it wasn't working. October 15, 20168 yr comment_504955 Grumpy right hand turn signals are epidemic. it's one of two things. The first is the contacts in the switch need cleaning, or the tiny roll pin that forms the pivot for the TS arm is either loose or just about to fall out, making the switch hard to move far enough to get the contacts closed. Get creative and make a new pin that's a bit bigger. December 22, 20168 yr comment_508684 Do all lights blink if you hit the hazards? If so its not likely a wiring issue and it probably connected to the switch, I usually need to hold mine down to keep them going. If hazards are intermittent on one side its probably wiring, if hazards are intermittent on one light its likely the bulb about to die. January 2, 20178 yr comment_509412 The other thing I noticed is if you take the fuse out, wipe each end with steal wool, lightly crimp each end of the fuse terminals and reinstall the fuse. This solved two of my issues. I'm running the old style fuses. I was scratching my head for hours trying to figure out what the heck was going on. January 2, 20178 yr comment_509435 I'm betting you still have a problem but it reveals itself more when the circuit voltage is low. Before I fixed it my turn signals would stop working when the headlights were onSent from my SM-G930T using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/56106-magic-turn-signal-fixed-itself/#findComment-509435 Share on other sites
January 3, 20178 yr Author comment_509503 Still works about half the time. Some good ideas in the recent posts, so I'll check when I have the time.
