Maybe it is old stock but you can order the Paraut water pump on Amazon.

 I've used both and worn out both. They both worked fine and lasted about the same length of time. Given the option of cast or stamped, I would go with the cast. It looks like a better part even if it's not. It's a perception thing, IMO.

As far as the GMB pumps, I'm only speaking from personal experience.  We have sold over 60 units this year and have not had a single return/failure thus far.  On a newer vehicle I definitely prefer OE parts.  With older vehicles we're limited to what's still available and I feel that GMB has been very reliable.  We are trying to source a water pump with a cast impeller just like the OE unit which was actually made by Paraut.  We are in contact with a couple of suppliers to locate old stock or have some made.  This way both options will still be available from our store.

If the cast blades are no longer available, the argument is moot. We don't know about the parts we buy, and hopefully there's a reasonable warranty to compensate for the concern. We appreciate our supporting vendors.

The manufacturers all say the stamped impeller is the same or better as the cast one but never show data.  So it looks like just standard cost-cutting.

This is the the wrong forum to mention Tony D.  His abrasive forum manners aren't popular here at all.  He doesn't contribute.

I recently picked up a spare water pump, at the recommendation from someone here.  Sorry, can't remember who.  This Aisin pump has a cast impeller.
