sweatybetty Posted October 9, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2016 i am near the point of needing a camshaft, as i hope to have the head back from the shop this week. kind of hard to make a decision, but i have narrowed it down to 2. so, my question is are any of you using either of these, and if so, how do you like it. my engine is a l24 that is .75mm over and the pistons are .5mm out of the block. the head is a E31 with 280 valves. i have weber carbs, 3-2-1 header and pertronix ignition and a fidanza flywheel. http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=1153&sb=2 http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=1152&sb=2 thanks all sb
madkaw Posted October 9, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2016 I personally haven't been able to tell a difference between the Schneider cam(480/280) and the Isky (490/290) . Don't think you can go wrong with either. I think only a dyno would tell me. I got both cams to idle okay and both make good powerSent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
Jeff G 78 Posted October 9, 2016 Share #3 Posted October 9, 2016 Not to add to the confusion, but you might want to also check out Web Racing Camshafts. They are well-respected and can offer advice based on your setup.
