How do you know it's a scam?

Maybe just the weird price, $4082, and its lowness.  If you do a search on the image though some odd things come up.  Right click on the image in the ad and Google it.

I remember this car or one very similar that was for sale recently for $13,000. Here's a screen shot of the other car or possibly the same car.

I come across from time to time where scammers take existing cars from CL and post it in other states or cites for a a low and tempting price.

It looks almost identical to the BAT car in the other thread.  Except for the bumpers.

 

The car on BAT in Seattle is real. I visited the shop late last week when it first showed up. It is a nice car with some over detailing with paint on everything. Nothing that can't be fixed. Biggest question is "is there something hidden under the new paint and dynamat? Some before photos would help it.

It's a scam. Like Zed Head said. I contacted the seller when it was listed in a different city's Craigslist a week or so ago.

If you take the text from the ad and paste into Google you turn up a lot of other phony ads.

That one was for sale in Washington state too. Attached Ad and email the scammer sent me.  Be Aware!!!!! Bay Motors does not conduct financial transactions outside of eBay.

About 3 years ago I nearly got caught in this same Scam on a 4x4 Toyota from a guy with the exact same story. If you anyone involved in this sale please earn them.

Open that CL ad and hit the prohibited button.  We can at least make him work for his ill-gotten gains.  

Or, if somebody lives in the area contact the police and try to set up a sting.  That would be fun.
