Crazy weather here, too.  I live in the desert and it's been raining for several days.  Roads closed due to flooding, the roof leaks, and snow in the local mountains.  The house has two HVAC systems that are both putting out heat to keep us warm.  Not a typical week in the desert.

Fairly typical winter weather for Calgary. Been -20 to -25 C for a couple of weeks, more snow than usual. Now -4C, forecast for early next week is +16!!! We get these warm spells in the winter routinely due to our location near mountains and weather patterns. Mind you, last winter, spring started in early March and stayed until later November.

Remember the difference between weather and climate..

I work in the San Francisco Bay Area but live in Incline Village, Nevada (Lake Tahoe). My normal commute is 3:10 minutes. I work for a week and I'm off for a week. I got off last Monday at 6pm and it took me 42 hours to get home! I arrived Wednesday at 12n. Oh, and there was 15' of new snow at home!
