Hi,

Can someone show me a photo of an original 72 camshaft and cam gear. I would like to identify if my cam gear and camshaft is original. I have a feeling they aren't. My cam gear has no notch and the cam lobes have rough edging as if they were just cut or made.

Thanks!

my new chain kit came with a sprocket that does not the notch. iirc, it is a OSK brand. made in Japan.

This sucks, I was going to buy this one since it was made in Japan. I did buy a used OE cam gear.

Could you use the OE one to measure and grind out a window on your new timing kit?  I think you need that,  I've used it many times on mine.

i am thinking the same thing. the notches on the old cam sprocket seem to line up with the dowel pin holes. shouldnt be too difficult to do
