Shaving EGR from the intake

I am going to refresh the Rats Nest EFI system on my 77 280Z.  I have a spare intake and would like to shave the EGR and then have it powder coated.   I'm interested in how others have done this.   Also, debating on which fuel rail to get to replace my old 3 piece unit, either a 78 (or newer)  single piece rail or get Palnet to make one up for me.  Appreciate any thoughts on pros/cons.

There's an N42 on the classifieds now.  I put a block off plate on my n47.  There's a tunnel under there I don't think you can shave away. People talk about shaving, they're talking about the bosses all the crap bolts into.

If you have access to a drill press and taps you can make your own rail for less than $50. It isn't easy though so Palnet is the easiest if you have the money.

You can read my thread for my process. A TIG welder is needed to weld the holes up. I would also preheat the part to allow offgassing for a better weld. Any cast part welds poorly but you can still get a decent result. Especially if you are planning on powder coating.

Go pallnet for the rail. Get the 11mm oring style and buy stock Cressida injectors (198cc) for similar stock performance but will allow you to swap them out easily later if you upgrade the ecu. Clean, upgradable and affordable.
