Martzedcars Posted January 27, 2017 Share #25 Posted January 27, 2017 Here in Europe... we never heard about a charcoal canister! As far as i know there are no euro versions with a charcoal canister. I don't have fuel smell .. (Also that can over the fuel tank is not there on a euro version.)

It would be interesting to see how they handled the fuel venting.
wheee! Posted January 27, 2017 Author Share #27 Posted January 27, 2017 @Eurodat is looking into a 260Z FSM from Europe to see if he has the drawings to support elimination of the can and tank...!
Martzedcars Posted January 28, 2017 Share #28 Posted January 28, 2017 I've got the 280zx S130 service manuals. A 280Z never came to Europe officially .. All fuel venting is connected to the inlet tube tank.
wheee! Posted January 28, 2017 Author Share #29 Posted January 28, 2017 What about earlier S30 models? The S130 has the fuel sending unit on top with the vent, the 280 has it on the side like the 240. I am curious to see how Eurodat's 260 manual plumbs the system. Captain Obvious Posted January 29, 2017 Share #30 Posted January 29, 2017 I don't have the ZX manuals downloaded. Anyone know what is the unlabeled device between 8 and 6?
EuroDat Posted January 29, 2017 Share #31 Posted January 29, 2017 Hi Mark, Unfortunatly I don't have that section. Only have sections of the engine, cooling system, transmission and suspension. I think you can workout the principle function from Mart's diagram. I know a guy in my village who is restoring an american import 280ZX, but I think he has an european rust bucket he is driving around.
wheee! Posted January 29, 2017 Author Share #32 Posted January 29, 2017 It looks like the tank venting is completely different on the ZX. Mainly because it is a top mounted sending unit I believe.
