The reason most put fender flares on is to run wider and lower the cars. This is what you end up doing to really lower the car and fit big tires on the car. A lot of people won't cut up the car just bolt them to the side.

that's what i was planning on doing - just bolting the flares on... thanks!

Okay, now your previous comment makes sense,  3M makes some double stick foam trim tape that is incredibly strong, might be worth a thought rather than drilling holes. Loving the photos.

I do miss my 73.  She was cut when I got her.  Miss those HRE's too.  Should have never sold them.

no judgement... as you can see in my OP, we have ALL been there!

Congrats FunkytownZ on your latest acquisition!  Kudos to you for flying out and inspecting the car in person before buying it.  Too many people (me included) have just trusted the seller, sent the money, only to have a load of disappointment dropped off by the shipping company.  I think the color of your car is so different and the is so smooth that I would not put any fender flares on it.  Just my .02 but I think you have a great looking car as is.  We look forward to your updates!

Airlines miles sure do come in handy sometimes [emoji6] miles well spent! Thanks Hardway, luckily I didn't have to learn the "hardway" on that deal

Thanks for the feedback on the flares.. I'm still on the fence but my long term goal is to go to a performance engine and more aftermarket so I'm thinking installing the flares...

another sunny day in Texas, another day cruizing...

got a K&N filter and tube installed - found an awesome Z shop in FW that is going to really help with my EFI upgrade and some of the bigger ticket items I can't handle on my own.   huge, successful day finding that!
