I'm looking with a phone but it looks like the hose is missing or unplugged.  I was told to plug mine when I deleted the egr and bpt valves.

It has a nut on the bottom you can turn for adjustment.  Try half a turn one way and drive it. If it helps keep going that way, if it makes it worse go back the other way.  Google "280z bcdd adjustment" and click "images".  You'll see the fsm's directions.

Finally got around to adjusting my idle speed down to something realistic.. ran around with an idle of 1000 rpm and ran great, maybe even better. No adjustment to the BCDD needed, downshifting and deceleration and shifting were great and predictable

I'll try 800 rpm next.

I also put in my third tank of gas recent and switched from 93 octane to 89. Happy I did, not running as rich now.

Aack.  Octane rating won't affect the fuel-air ratio.  Could be you're experiencing something similar to the "clean car" effect.  When your engine runs better after you wash the car.

Took her out all day today.. met some buddies for golf then for cold beer and burgers at Fred's Texas.

Next on the to-do list:
Oil change and replace drain cap and o-ring
Flush radiatior and replace coolant
Flush transmission and replace
Replace shifter pin and bushings
Replace rack and pinion boots
Install new shift knob (MSA is out of those nice wooden ones - anyone got one they'd sell?)
Check my AC compressor functionality and install if working

My 5th gear syncros are having issues at high RPM/speed, which has me worried... shifts into 5th at lower RPM and speed
