I believe I have seen thoughs pics before though. Can't remember where, but don't you have more pics of your Z cornering? What do you need to have equiped as far a safety to compete in though compatitions(meaning the type of roll cage or roll bars)?

I'd love to drive Laguna Seca in a Z.

Thanks, Yeah, it was a dream come true. All I can say is the Z is a worthy car on the track with a few basic modifications. On this particular day, I went out with Touring Car Club http://www.touringcarclub.com of Los Angeles. What they required for "driving school" was a safe car with seat belts, full clothing, gloves and a approved helmet. This type of safety is pretty lax, but considering people are there to learn as opposed to take the cars to the absolute limit justifies it. Not to mention, it wasn't wheel to wheel, but more of a time trial kind of setup, where each car is separated by time and passing was not allowed except on the straights. I did have a rollbar myself, but besides that, nothing else. If you ever get involved with SCCA stuff, there are FAR more requirements. (rollbar, 5 point harness, fire extinguisher system, etc) Seca itself, is a very dangerous track and it not very forgiving (lots of places to lose control at high speed) but very fun. Coming through the corkscrew is the best!!! The best safety is knowing your limits and driving conservatively!

Where'd you get that front air dam? I want one just like it!

Most air-dams aren't worthy of my project, but, I definitely like that one. Is it fibreglass or all plastic?

When is the Laguna Seca competition for Z's? I'd like to attend one of these events.

The airdam is from Motorsport Auto, and is manufactured by Xenon. It is a urethane air dam, so is very resilent to harming, unlike the fiberglass counterpart. If you hit anything with the fiberglass units, they WILL break. The only downside to the urethane units is that they aren't quite as stiff and is suggested to use some additional support otherwise they deform at very high speeds.

I couldn't tell you if there is any Z related event at Laguna Seca, touringcarclub.com is on the waiting list for '2002 to rent out the track.
