Hi all,

I just enabled a new feature that adds security questions to your accounts.  The purpose of this is to secure your accounts against hackers.  It's not likely that our system will be hacked, but, it will also give Admins the capability to validate your account in case you lose your password (or change email addresses and forget your login).  If you have any issues, please let me know.  Thanks.

Hopefully it will prevent that from happening.  I enabled this feature because sometimes people forget their logins and ask me to change their passwords.  I had no real way to validate the request was coming from the real user.  This will give me something to validate your accounts when that happens.  Questions are unique for our site, so no need to worry about using the same answers for banks or other sensitive accounts (like mothers maiden name, etc).

One of the questions should be how many Z's do you own or how many Z's have you owned.    I couldn't decide what to say when asked what color my Z is.

Nice idea!  I'll add that question.  You can always change your answers by clicking your name in the upper right and choosing "Account Settings"

What scared me was when I hit SUBMIT it went to white page with blue writing, proxy or html, something like that but it took me away from the forum.  Anyway thanks for keeping dummies like me safe. 8^)

i absolutely hate it. how is someone supposed to remember each question AND answer. can you make it voluntary? 

You chose three questions from the drop down list. I did year, color and another easy to remember one. 

I've got a file with all my passwords and usernames written down in that I have to rely on more and more now days.

I tried to choose questions that could be easily remembered.  Things like the color of your car, the year of your car, etc...  If you have some additional ideas for easier questions, I am willing to add them to the list.

Here's a list of times you will need to know your security questions below.  FYI, the security questions are the same thing as "Two Factor Authentication".
