Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the info.  I am trying to collect as many tips as possible form various people.  It helps to get a different perspective. 

So what is a "floor pot"?  Some sort of anchoring device?  Can you post a picture or send a link to a website?

Plate required for a new floor: http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/champ-instant-floor-plate-new-floors-p-10320.aspx

Check their web site for all of the different attachments. I think Champ's web site shows where to locate the pots. I went with 10 pots. You can use more or less but 10 seemed like it would do almost anything I'd need.

Very interesting.  Do you have any pictures of them installed in your floor? I would like to see how you have them arranged.

No way would this even be possible in NYC or it's related suburbs without paying millions. Dream garage right there! good job!

You have to worry about hitting rebar and ruining the bits ($500 each).

The general contractor I used to work for had a Milwaukee core drill, it was close to $3,000 way back when.

Good diamond core bit should eat rebar without an issue but it is slower than casting in place
