the other tool I am looking for is a drill chuck extender. I got some reverse drill bits for drilling out the broken stud in the exhaust down pipe, but I have a feeling I will not be able to get a good shot at it, too tight  for the drill and bit. I found a nice 3/8 extender that has a built in handle along the shaft that is there to help control the bit.

you might try some leak detector dye and a black light bulb. it will show you exactly where the leak is

Is there one specifically for the oil? I could only find it for a/c. 

I just installed the competition oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket from MSA, I think they are a little thicker. They were easy to install, no leaks, glad I went with them.

 That's a good thing.

well too loose is better than too tight, I am no where near 84inch pounds, prob closer to 1/2 that. So plan is to go over them all with the new  inch pound 1/4" torque wrench (I checked the new wrench calibration against both the 1/2" drive and the 3/8 beam style, all checked about the same) when I have it up again, which should be soon for the ball joints.

Be careful not to break a head off. I was torqueing the fly wheel bolts a couple weeks ago and snapped one off. I had easy access to drill it out, I think you won't be happy if you snap one on the oil pan.
