I run the '81 - '83 close-ratio box along with a 3.90 gear in my race car.  The shifter is a bit of a pain.  I bent the rod to fit, but the rubber shift boot doesn't fit very well due to the shifter position.

I already run a 71b type 4 speed and enlarged the opening

so the 5 speed should not require much work

I have not tried zcarsource yet

last transmission I bought from them  I had to have rebuilt as reverse was clunking

That is a four speed transmission. The cover plate on the selector rod gives it away. I made this simple guide a while back to help identify the two 5 speed transmissions, wide and close ratio.

There are two transmissions in the CL ad, a 4 speed and a 5 speed.  Can't believe how prices are rising.  I'll have a gold mine in my garage pretty soon.  Hoarding might pay off.

They ask €575 for the last one I seen sold over here. It went quick too.
