Posted March 29, 20178 yr comment_516757 An antique dealer friend contacted me saying he had something that I might be interested in. I have told him, in the past, to look for Datsun dealership signs etc... I do not know what to think of what he had found, they are Warranty book covers only. I did buy them from him along with some old Datsun window sticker sheets, and paid more than I should have . I went by the philosophy of American Pickers when you see something you have not seen before buy it. The window sticker sheets were on traction feed perforated paper he had torn them apart for easier stacking. I have attached a copy of the warranty book cover. March 30, 20178 yr comment_516788 That looks pretty interesting but perhaps a better pic, right side up so we can read the text would be better. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57385-warranty-book-cover/#findComment-516788 Share on other sites
March 30, 20178 yr comment_516789 Looks like the one that came with my 01/'72 when I bought it a few years ago. Owner info on the back of the front page, service shops on the back page. I don't know the original source. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57385-warranty-book-cover/#findComment-516793 Share on other sites
March 30, 20178 yr comment_516811 I would be interested in buying a cover and a window sticker if you want to sell them. I think they would be interesting to have as memorabilia. March 31, 20178 yr comment_516862 Those warranty covers are interesting. Does the dealer assembles them with the warranty card and include printed information inside the outer cover as in my pic? If so, how do they get the staples to appear under the blue outer coating as in unseens's pic of a completed book? Mine is printed on the inside, and has the staples covered like unseens too. I would think the warranty books would be made and stapled in Japan, and come with the car to the dealer. I would Completely expect a dealer would have the window stickers with a dot matrix printer that fills out the info for the car they have. Cool to have a blank one. I would also be interested in buying a set just for a cool display. Just saying', It might not have been such a bad purchase after all Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57385-warranty-book-cover/#findComment-516862 Share on other sites
March 31, 20178 yr Author comment_516866 I absolutely do not know anything about these covers. I agree with you in looking at my warranty book the inside pages were stapled and then the cover was glued over the staples. I always wondered how they typed the information on the inside of the cover without damaging the book. I have noticed that some dealers filled out the inside of the covers by hand. My book is typed.
