I am looking for a 77/78 280z gas tank in good condition no dents if any exist mine is in poor condition .

Actually, I have one that I just restored.   Unfortunately Like Mark has mentioned before, shipping from GA to Alberta would not be pretty.

I am very fortunate to have benefitted from another's loss...

A guy in Ontario had his paint prepped and stripped car stolen from the body shop... he hung onto all the parts for twenty years hoping it would surface. In the end he sold me his near perfect tank. It needs cleaning and sealing but otherwise 95% dent free. Best i could hope for. And yes, shipping from Ontario cost as much as the tank...!

 

Ya i here ya getting parts from the states is crazy I have gotten stuff from MSA in California and by the time I get it they almost twice the price after exchange rate then I can get parts from Australia or Japan it is faster and cheaper it's strange.

I have tossed over the hole fuel cell idea I am just not crazy about the hole cutting out the wheel well to do it , does it sacrifice the body strength?

Not if you reinforce the area with the fuel cell holding brackets. Another member here in Edmonton is going that route with his 76 as well.

In the long run might be cheaper .
