wheee! Posted April 25, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2017 So I have been waffling on whether or not to paint the wheel wells body colour or paint them black or bed liner paint. The car will be rarely driven in anything but pristine weather but rock and road debris is always an issue. What do YOU prefer?
Mark Maras Posted April 25, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2017 I prefer the body color. Black is a bear to keep clean. The texture of the bed liner would be a real dirt collector. And besides, you can't wax bed liner like you can a painted drive shaft.

grannyknot Posted April 25, 2017 Share #7 Posted April 25, 2017 Body colour, it is no longer a commoner, it's a princess now.
wheee! Posted April 25, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted April 25, 2017 Back on topic... I agree the painted surface will clean easier than rock guard. Just not sure if it will chip too easily.
gwri8 Posted April 25, 2017 Share #9 Posted April 25, 2017 You will have fender liners in the front won't you? what color are they? I like my wheel wells black. I'm just old school that way.
wheee! Posted April 25, 2017 Author Share #10 Posted April 25, 2017 Yes. The front will have black liners but some of the body colour will still be visible like the frame rail area etc. Black isn't a deal breaker for me, just curious what the popular opinion is. sweatybetty Posted April 25, 2017 Share #11 Posted April 25, 2017 my 2 cents... i went with black undercoating because i am more worried about keeping the metal from rusting. if you can keep the water out.........
26th-Z Posted April 25, 2017 Share #12 Posted April 25, 2017 "Correct" would be body color over a lightly textured undercoating, I believe.
