Posted April 21, 200321 yr comment_34662 Hi,I'm new to the forum. I just happened to know a guy selling this car and thought that someone on this board might like the opportunity. I was about to get it myself, but I decided I didn't have the time or a place to restore it.He's looking for about $1400 for this carLocation: Upstate NY, 45 min north of the cityHistory.1 owner 173,000 original milesKept in Texas for most of its life, only one trip up North into Michigan for one month. That's the only time it's ever seen snowWas meticulously kept for the first 10 years of its life, tuned up every 10,000 miles. Has been sitting for about the last 20. Was put away running 2 years ago.All original except for the following - 1972 carbs, and dealer installed sunroofIt was originally like a fire engine red, except the texas sun has had it's way with it and as you can see from the pics it is now a dull orange. I'm not much of an appraiser of these cars, but definitely some of the underbody needs to be patched up where it's been rusted through. Overall though, the rust is limited to patches about the size of a softball underneath the passenger compartment. I wasn't able to find much anywhere else. I am not entirely sure what all needs to be done to the engine since it's been sitting so long. But at least on the body, rust holes patched up, new paint job, some work on sprucing up the interior, and new seals on all the doors. Could be a pretty rewarding project for anyone willing to undertake it. April 21, 200321 yr comment_34684 I'm sorry, but 45 minutes north of "the city" isn't "upstate NY", it's only upwind.Upstate doesn't start till you get above Albany....:classic: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/5759-1973-240z-for-sale-in-new-york/#findComment-34684 Share on other sites
April 21, 200321 yr Author comment_34694 From my understanding, it's the city, and then the rest is just "upstate" wait, so what do you call the space in between NYC and Albany then? April 21, 200321 yr comment_34695 Well, when we lived up there anything below I-90 was the "southern tier" and anything above I-90 was "upstate"...As for the "city", well, we tried not to claim that traffic nightmare....:devious: I'm from "upstate" on the Canadian border... can't get any further upstate than that...... April 22, 200321 yr comment_34726 I'm in upstate...more like the southern tier actually. Where is this car located? And do you have any other shots of the car itself? Also, how would I be able to contact the seller? This sounds like a decent deal, and pretty close to home, too. LMK some details, maybe I'm game.
