May 12, 20177 yr comment_520752 Interesting. I have on from my 70 Z with exactly the same granulated surface deterioration of the slotted black plastic 'grommet'. I was going to try to replace it, but now I can see that it's actually 'patina'. So that means my selling price just went up by 100%. Bids? May 13, 20177 yr comment_520838 The early antenna has an 'arrow' tip and the later ones have a more flat / squareish tip (on the mast). While on the topic anyone found a donor mast that could be used in place the original (which is often broken)? I've found quite a few motors but the tip or mast is broken... My 5/72 production car, has 40,000 miles and the original pointed tip antenna, It is the exact same antenna as far as I can tell as my four 1969 production cars and my 1970 Z-L. I don't think there are any differences in original antennas up through 1973 at least.
