polybius11 Posted May 19, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2017 I have a 1972 240z, and the guy I bought it from got a viper security system and a beefy sound system wired in (very poorly might I add). I need to rewire a lot of the engine bay and the wiring diagrams available are not helping, a lot of wires are spliced and replaced that don't match up or are just taped off and lead nowhere. If anybody has a diagram of all the 10 pin connectors that are located underneath the passenger side of the dashboard it would help a lot, or if anybody has any self made diagrams that are at all related to engine bay wiring please post them, anything might help me out. SteveJ Posted May 19, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2017 Are you SURE you have a 72? The 10 pin connectors are laid out in the 73 FSM. What is the build date on the door plate? What is the VIN? BE-4 Body Electrical.pdf
SteveJ Posted May 19, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 19, 2017 For completeness, this is what is in the 72 FSM.
polybius11 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted May 19, 2017 These are the connectors I'm talking about, I'll check the VIN when I get home but it is registered as a
SteveJ Posted May 19, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 19, 2017 I would not be surprised if the door plate said 9/72 or later. I'm also wondering if you have the 5MPH front bumper from a 73. Those connectors are definitely what I've seen in 73s.
JLPurcell Posted May 19, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 19, 2017 If it is a 72 or 73 I might have a good harness.

polybius11 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted May 19, 2017 Alright so after a lot of looking around i found some diagrams someone else drew up, the wire colors match up for the most part. I'm gonna try to wire it up based on these, I'll update later this weekend whether it worked or not
