June 26, 20204 yr Author comment_601792 Thanks! Got the diamond vinyl installed. Way easier re-installing the original than putting in the new stuff. Got this installed in probably 1/4 the time of putting in new vinyl. June 29, 20204 yr Author comment_601923 Here's a few more photo updates. Assembly is moving right along. Sent gas tank and radiator out last week for sealing and re-core. Ordered braided hoses and exhaust parts from Jay. The long poles are the headliner and vintage dash. Hopefully will have this running is a couple weeks. July 1, 20204 yr Author comment_602012 Thanks! Got the front bumper installed. Cleaned up and installed alternator also. Got my hoses in yesterday so I put a couple of them in place. Will start installing clamps on Thursday. Fuel tank is out getting sealed and radiator re-cored. Should get those back early next week. Wrestling with the correct clamp color here. I think fuel and smog get silver zinc and the rest are yellow zinc. May just boil down to which sizes are what color in my parts boxes. July 3, 20204 yr comment_602058 From what I've seen of your car builds, they're just gorgeous! They only problem I'd have with them is I would be afraid to drive them. Carry on! Yes, I am afraid to drive them when it's a customers car. This one is mine, so I am not so worried. I can always build another one. Got a lot of stuff done over the holiday. Got the radiator re-cored with a three row core. Also got the fuel tank lined, cleaned up and installed. Put most of the fuel tank hoses on. Put in the heater hoses and most of the clamps. Also started putting in panels. Re Really Beautiful Work - - I do not recall any of the clamps on the 72 being Yellow, I'll have to go dig though any of the original parts I kept off my 72. - Also the "dog bone" clamps on the fuel lines were only used on the early Z's. I would save them for a Series I restoration. The last full set of 6 restored "dog bone" fuel line clamps sold for around $60.00 each.. Unrestored they are now over $30.00 each. July 7, 20204 yr Author comment_602265 Hi Carl, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, guess I will have to change out those fuel clamps. They are pretty cool though and somewhat rare. Was not sure when they changed those out. The clamp colors are a bit of a question as they seem to have changed over time. I should probably talk to Les Cannady to get the scoop on those, or Jim Frederick. Even so, It still irritates me that most of my clamps have the hex heads which are the knock-offs. It's hard to find these with the original pan-heads.
