June 13, 20177 yr comment_522977 I'm pretty sure it'll have an N47 intake and cylinder head with that EGR and BPT valve in your pictures too. There was a factory recall for certain vin numbers n the Egr coupling I can post in the morning. Mine didn't have the "fix" done and it rotted a golf ball size hole under my intake, causing a tremendous vacuum leak that I chased my tail with and bugged the hell out of the members on here when I first joined the party. I'll get that info to you asap but I'm about to shut down for tonight. Back tomorrow though. 8^) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57917-my-new-1976-280z-project/?&page=2#findComment-522977 Share on other sites

June 13, 20177 yr Author comment_522982 CO noticed the bumper rubber and the hood vents, signs of 1977. My comment was about the major changes in the body parts from 76 to 77, but confimring what CO noted. For example, if you buy 1976 door parts for your car they probably won't fit. Many other parts aren't' the same either. You probably looked at the stamp on the door jamb, that had a 1976 year on it. But that's the build date, not the model year. Nissan, and most car makers, start building their model years ~6 months ahead of the actual model year. Anyway, your car is probably a 1977 280Z. What does the title show? We're not trolling, just steering...I'll check the door jamb tomorrow, the hood and the bumpers are not original Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57917-my-new-1976-280z-project/?&page=2#findComment-522982 Share on other sites
June 13, 20177 yr comment_522985 This is an early 76 door jamb style. Yours is either a late 76 or 77 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57917-my-new-1976-280z-project/?&page=2#findComment-522985 Share on other sites
June 13, 20177 yr comment_522989 At quick glance, the reasons I'm calling it a 77 instead of a 76: Door latch design. Bumper designs (including the metal trim strips between the bumper and the body) It has a BPT. You know, right after posted the claim about 77, I was thinking the exact same thing and was thinking someone may bring that up! However, looking at the pic of the engine compartment, it appears to have the 77 PCV hose routing, so barring higher res pics of the engine, I (got lucky and) stand by the claim of 77.
