August 8, 20177 yr comment_527557 These are 205/60/15. This matches the stock tire height of the original wheels and tires so the speedo should register the correct speed. August 8, 20177 yr comment_527558 Actually 215/60-15 is what matches the original tire/wheel O.D. 205 is slightly less, so the speedo will read slightly higher. August 9, 20177 yr comment_527600 I have the original spare tire for my '71 240. It is a 175HR14, no sidewall size listed. It's my understanding that this tire is pretty much a 175/78/15, but who knows really. Based on that here's how I picked my equivalent wheel/tire size. This is from a tire equivalent calculator on the Discount tire web site; https://www.discounttire.com/learn/tire-size-calculator Here's your tire choice Here's my tire choice According to this my 205/60/15 is pretty darn close to the original tire size. August 9, 20177 yr comment_527626 205x60x15. If your speedo reads wrong because you choose to run a different tire size than original, calibrate the speedometer. August 10, 20177 yr comment_527647 @moelk, Are you running 205/60/15 and if so did you have to do any speedo calibration for your speedo to show correctly? From your reply this isn't clear. September 1, 20177 yr comment_529324 I'm running 225/60-14 on 6" wide vintage Appliance wheels. It's the biggest 14" tire that matches OE diameter. They fill in the wells nicely and handle great compared to 195's.
