August 7, 20177 yr Author comment_527512 He is right but if you use a water base stripper and washing a high pressure washer you should be inn pretty good shape. Plan is to strip the car to as close to bare metal then sand blast and follow up with more pressure washing. Never can wash to much. Overall both of the cars I have in really good shape.Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57967-new-tool-toy/?&page=2#findComment-527512 Share on other sites
August 7, 20177 yr comment_527514 So how many applications of paint remover did it take you to get down to clean metal? Just one with the plastic wrap? Or were there still multiple apply, wait, scrape cycles? Edited August 7, 20177 yr by Captain Obvious One stinkin character!! August 7, 20177 yr comment_527518 I used a razor blade on a long handle to remove my paint. Many layers. Worked great. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57967-new-tool-toy/?&page=2#findComment-527518 Share on other sites

August 27, 20177 yr Author comment_528912 Great day, temps in the upper 60's. Got the door sprayed with expoxy primer once dried late this afternoon I strayed the Lizzard skin sound control. Tomorrow I will spray the ceramic insulation. If all goes well next weekend I will get time to put the door skin back on.Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57967-new-tool-toy/?&page=2#findComment-528912 Share on other sites
September 2, 20177 yr Author comment_529478 finally got another day for the door and new toy. Did test fit of the door skin. Clamp the skin to the door frame tacked them together at the top. Then got out the door skin hammer and dolly to fold the skin crimp over. Finally what I have been waiting using my pneumatic skin crimping tool. WOW! Was that quick and slick! To finish the day off I shot the Interior side of the door in epoxy primer. Will do the skin next and then onto finishing the door and peel the driver door apart!Enjoy the Laborless Day weekend.Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/57967-new-tool-toy/?&page=2#findComment-529478 Share on other sites
