That's a cool alternative. Did you move the existing baffle? I can't remember offhand if it extends that far down the side..?  

It sits under the stock baffle out of the way of spray. No change in function, just location. I will route to a catch can on the firewall. Then back into the regular flow of crankcase ventilation.

Wheee!, Do you have any pics of the baffle plate loose from the inside of the valve cover? I saw your shot of the inside of the valve cover sans baffle, but do you have pics of the baffle itself?

And Mike W, Do you have any pics of your new replacement baffle you made up?

I'm still thinking about changing the PCV scheme, and that's why I wanted a peek at the baffle design(s).

I have an easily accessible valve cover and a camera if difficulties are encountered.  I was part of the dialog in that other thread.  Interesting topic.  I hate changing my oil.

So there is very little room in the back of the valve cover as it relates to the last cam tower.  As a result I have to dremel off the part of the bung that was protruding into the cover itself in order to make some additional room.  You will see that in one of the pictures below.  Also you will see the "bosses" that are cast into the top of tyhe cover and these I drilled and tapped so I could secure the new baffle to the cover.  The only thing not shown in the pictures are the small holes that we drilled around the bung opening in the new baffle.  Pretty straight forward and seems to work fine.

Loctite those screws.... you don't want them vibrating loose into the engine!

I used red loctite as well as lock washers so they should be pretty secure in there.

So are you running a PCV valve on the other vent location under the distributor, or did you cap that other end off in some way?
