That's why I mentioned the gland nut. Even the 240Z strut tube is smaller than 280Z, so even though the shock fits, the gland nut won't. As I understand things. Tokico had distributor problems a few years ago and never really recovered. I think that they might have changed ownership and things got very screwed up. I've taken them, apart on parts cars, but on the cars I've had I have not needed to replace. I will need the info for this car.
